ORDER WILLOW CUTTINGS - Spring 2024 Delivery
If you have space and a suitable growing site why not grow your own sustainable willow plants for craft projects at your school or home. Willow cuttings are a great way to start a basketry garden or plant a large area such as a stream bank for erosion control or extensive area for windbreak or privacy. *please note, colours and growing habits may differ depending on soil and growing conditions of your site.
Willow grows best with a minimum of half a day of sun, however it does very well planted in full sun. You will require access to water for the first growing season at minimum. You will be provided with planting instructions with your willow order. If you have questions about growing, please contact us.
We harvest your cuttings fresh in the spring, once harvested we can ship them directly to you or you may pick them up at the farm by appointment only. They must be planted as soon as possible, as soon as the frost is out of the ground. You do not have to wait until the soil has dried or warmed up.
The following is a list of the willow we have available. If you are looking for the best basketry willow we suggest all of the purpureas, streamco, belgian red, hutchison’s yellow and acutifolia. Basketry willow is coppiced every year. Each stool produces between 10-30 rods of varying height depending on the variety. In the list below we have provided a mature height of each variety if left to grow without coppicing.

CUTTINGS ARE $2.25 EACH Plus taxes and shipping, (if applicable). Shipping for up to 100 cuttings within Canada is typically around $26, however you will receive a shipping price based on your postal code when you place your order. Orders shipping to the USA will be charged a fee of approximately $26 for a phytosanitary certificate.
Willow rods/whips are $3.90 each, minimum order of 50 rods/whips, minimum 10 per variety. Rods/whips are available for pick up only. Minimum order can be met by combining rods and cuttings as well.
Orders will be accepted until Mid-February 2024 or until sold out.
