LIVING WILLOW TREE WORKSHOPS WITH MADAME TWIG III

We are VERY excited to offer several woven willow tree workshops!

A dramatic, elegant sculptural tree that is sure to turn heads and be the envy of your neighborhood. These stunning trees will make an eye catching addition to any garden.

Heart Willow trees are not available as a class but they are available for pickup. To purchase a heart willow tree, fill out the form below we will schedule a date a time for pickup.

Don’t forget to add pond rings! They work well in large natural ponds, if you have fish they will love to shelter around them as they grow. *Although they may survive winter, treat them as annual water plants* available for purchase and pick up on the form below.

All the details you need for your class will be attached to your invoice in a PDF. Your payment confirms your space. Please read our cancellation policy before you book your workshop. All participants are required to provide full names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers in order to be registered for a class.

DETAILS ABOUT YOUR TREES

You will create your trees in pots in this two hour class, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THEY WILL NEED TO BE TRASNPORTED HOME IN YOUR VEHICLE. The trees must be transplanted into your garden once they have developed roots, they cannot stay in the pots because they will become root bound. Instructions for care and pruning will be provided after the workshop. Your trees are fine in pots outdoors, the cold weather will not hurt them unless they develop leaves. Once they have leaves just pop them in a garage or sheltered spot away from risk of frost overnight. During the day they need plenty of sun for root development. PLEASE DO NOT GROW THEM INDOORS!

The woven base is 3-4 ft high, pruned yearly it will reach a height of 5 - 6ft in a season.

Workshop includes: willow, ties, pot and soil

Living willow trees will thrive with at least a half day sun, (they won’t do well in shade) weekly deep watering and space to grow. Willow grows well in most soils but you may want to avoid extremely sandy or constantly wet conditions, also planting away from foundations and septic systems is advisable.
