LEARN BASKETRY and WILLOW SCULPTURE ONLINE

Willow basketry is a craft that lends itself to in-person learning, although you may attempt to learn through a book with some success, a good instructor can offer you insight into learning that does not translate on a written page. Learning how to ‘feel’ the willow, how to select material and hand techniques are all more easily taught through visual experiences. There are some instructional videos online which will offer you a good basis for basket making. Videos also offer you the option to repeat parts of the instruction and pause views for a closer look. If you search YouTube you will find a number of simple round basket videos, some better than others, certainly enough to get you started.
