Beginner
Someone who is brand new to willow basketry. They may have experience weaving in other materials, but have little to no experience with willow itself. Beginners may have only made one or two willow baskets under instruction and are not yet confident in carrying out the basic weaves without guidance.Advanced Beginner
Has made a handful of willow baskets under instruction and has also attempted at least one on their own. They may need a quick refresher on the basic weaves, but can usually pick them up again with ease. Advanced beginners may still find woven borders challenging and are not yet confident finishing a basket without support.Intermediate
Comfortable weaving a round basket independently, including a variety of basic weaves such as pairing, randing, and different forms of waling. Intermediates can shape their baskets with confidence and consistency. While they understand the process of borders, they may still need occasional reminders or guidance to complete them smoothly.Advanced
Able to weave several different basket forms and shapes on their own, confidently finishing them with woven borders. Advanced weavers are developing skills in more complex areas such as borders around corners, advanced shaping, patterned weaving, and designing baskets from scratch or to specific measurements. They may still look for guidance when tackling new or particularly technical techniques. -
Each workshop is priced differently according to the time involved and the project.

We currently ship within Canada. In the past, we have also shipped to customers in the United States; however, due to the significant and often unpredictable costs associated with duties, tariffs, and cross-border shipping, we have temporarily paused U.S. shipments.
We hope to resume shipping to the United States in the future and sincerely appreciate the interest and support of our American customers. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about current shipping availability.

We recommend willow trees grow best if planted in the ground, once they have been established in the pot, so that the root system has room to grow. Willow requires a lot of water and a pot of willow roots can get very thirsty during a hot, dry summer.
